Anyone had the pleasure of adding a WIFI phone to the shoretel system?

We've done the Hitachi wireless phone and it is pretty painless. Shoretel has an application note on how to setup the phone and Shoretel. Works pretty well too!

So is it as simple as making sure the phone grabs an IP address and setting up a extension on the shoretel and adding the MAC of the phone?

Also I heard you loose all funtions of the IP phones, like forwd, park etc.; just answer and hang up.

It's not as simple as plugging in a Shoretel phone since this is a SIP device. You have to configure SIP trunks and off-system extensions, ensure the sip settings are properly configured on the wireless sip phone and ensure you have proper wireless infastructure in place (especially if you are going to seriously use these devices).

You get basic functionality on the sip phone (answer, hang up, hold, transfer, etc.).
