  • Showing Missed Calls

We have a couple of phones that are always showing missed calls. Even after you receive another call or make a call to someone else, it still shows a missed call. Is there any way to remove it? I've rebooted the phone, but it's still showing up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like the IP Phone Display Task (IPDT) on the ShoreGear Switch managing the phone isn't updating the display properly. I suggest restarting the SG switch.

I had the same issue and was able to get it to correct by moving the phone to a different ShoreTel switch then moving it back.

There is a bug in 8.1 that causes this. 26.2303 was supposed to fix it.

I'm on 9.1, and had the issue today.

Yep, we have a customer running 9.1- 14.21.4905.0, and has the issue all the time. Apparently, it will be fixed in a later release.

But, yeah moving the phone around fixes it, but thats not much fun on a 1000+ phone system.

This happens in 7.5 also, moving phones fixes it in this version as well. Sounds like the fix is not to good.

Interesting. A user called me a minute ago about this and thought I would check the forum, but just a sec ago I have the missed call too, yet the original caller, hers is now gone. Weird because now there is two of us in the same office complex with the same issue.

I think another way to do it is to restart the phone affected. At least do that until the fix is available.

rebooting of the phone did not fix me when I had the issue, only moving to from switch to switch fixed the issue.

Anything in the shoretel logs? Or any weird events in the event viewer?

Have you tried restarting the IP Phone services? Not totally sure that would help either but it might be worth a try.

I have seen this several times, usually re-starting the offending SG switch will clear it up and it does not come back for quite some time (ver. 9.1). Moving the phone around will clear it on that phone in particular but does not get the display service (which is run off of the switch) to restart and therefore never really fixes the problem.
