  • "Dictation" Mailbox suggestions

I need to offer the ability for some of our doctors to dictate messages for an assistant to transcribe. So, I started by setting up a Mailbox only extension. However, I have a few questions:

    1. Can you pause recordings when leaving a message?

    2. Is it possible to send the voicemail message WAV file to a file share rather than a mailbox? (The assistants have transcription software and foot pedals, so they will be able to "scrub" through a message and transcribe)

I'm also looking for any other suggestions anyone might have.

    Thanks

    Brian

    Brian,

Can you tell me what software you have that allows a foot pedal to interface with a wav file for transcription? I could use that. Sorry I can't help with your question though!

        Philips 7277 PRO Transcription Kit

        We use Speech Exec Pro.
We just drag the wav file to the software directly from the email, but it would be nice to have the Director be able to dump the wav file to a fileserver (or mapped drive).

Maybe under Escalation Profiles, have a place for a network path.
