SureTrunk SIP Trunk

SureTrunk sounds great. Do you have any application notes to explain how this product can be used with Shoretel 7.5 SIP Trunks? Or can you tell us how to setup a Shoretel SIP Trunk to route in/out calls through SureTrunk.

Neil,
The App note was very helpful.

There does not appear to be any info on setting up the IPSEC channel between my network and SureTrunk's network, or any discussion of authentification. How does Suretrunk prevent unauthorized systems from leeching off the SIP trunks?

IPSEC and SureTrunk

I had not realized that you asked another question - so here is my response a couple of months late.

The VPN tunnel (which is used for signaling only) is a /32 tunnel between the ShoreTel switch that has SIP trunks configured and the SureTrunk network edge. Instead of an Ingate address, EtherSpeak will provide a unique IP address that is entered in the trunk group settings. The VPN tunnel enables the SureTrunk network to speak directly (and only) to the ShoreTel switch with port 5060 and ICMP. So it is a very secure setup because the only traffic allowed is traffic originating from the ShoreTel switch address.
