  • 7.5 to 8.1 upgrade - roaming profiles

    Not sure if anyone has run into this yet but thought I'd throw it out there.

    Last night I successfully updated from 7.5 to 8.1. Didn't have any issues other than users with roaming profiles not being able to update their Call Managers. Pressing the update button when they logged in returned an "Update Failed. Please try again." The only way I was able to get this to work was by uninstalling from the control panel then reinstalling from the director. Luckily I only had to touch about 20 boxes, not all 160.

    Anyone else run into this?

    We saw some wierd behavior under different circumstances.

    we upgraded from 7.5 to 8. No one could update their call handling mode. We upgraded to a newer version of 8. The call manager did not force a client update since the versions were pretty similar.

    We manually pushed the newer version of the PCM via active directory and the issue went away immediately. Ours looked like a bug in the early version of 8.
