  • Transfer to an external phone number

I just got a Shoretel system installed last week, and we are in the process of moving over from our 20 year old Vodavi analog phone system.

Last week our dealer setup an extension on our system so when a person calls one of our DID numbers, it does a trunk to trunk forward to transfer the caller to an external phone number for our overflow call center.

How do I change this phone number, or setup another DID number to transfer off to another external phone number?

My dealer will be coming back out next week to finish programming the menus for the auto attendand but I would perfer not to figure it out on my own.

Its a shoretel8 system running (2) PRI circuts with 400 DID numbers if that helps anyone out

Any chance you can post some screenshots? How about one of the extension in question and wherever it is configured to forward it (such as the external assignment page maybe?)

We need to know more about the call routing.... Do calls come into a hunt group first and then go to a route point for overflow (no answer or busy)? Do they go to an individual extension which then forwards?

Right now we have it setup where someone calls 313-305-XXX1 and it plays a short greeting and then is forwarded to 313-795-XXXX

Looks like they have an auto attendant menu setup which forwards to extension 111 which does the off-site transfer.

What do I have to do to setup extension 112 to forward to a different number?

        Does this help?

Just do it with a route point, that way you don't burn an extension license.
