  • Polycom IP 8000 Soundstation DTMF Issue

    Good Morniong/Afternoon

We are running Shoretel 7.5 (Build 12.13.1328.0). I appreciate this is an old version.

We have several Polycom 8000 IP Soundstation installed via SIP trunks on our system. It appears we are experiencing intermittent DTMF issues whereby the tones generated by our Polycom phones do not appear to be recognised.

The issue I have is that it is totally random, occassionally it works, occassionally it doesn't.

I have checked on the forum and the only thing I can see was an issue with an asterisk box

What does the "Enable SIP Info for G.711 DTMF Signaling" option do andf if so should I make the change?

I will be upgrading to the latest version of 7.5 shortly.

    Help/Suggestions appreciated.

From a ShoreTel perspective the Polycom 8000 is no longer a supported item. The other part you already know, your on a very old release of software you must upgrade off that beta.

You should consult Polycom to ensure the Dial String and Payload type is correctly setup.
    DTMF Event RTP Payload
The phone is compatible with RFC 2833 - RTP Payload for DTMF Digits,
Telephony Tones, and Telephony Signals. RFC 2833 describes a standard
RTP-compatible technique for conveying DTMF dialing and other telephony
events over an RTP media stream. The phone generates RFC 2833 (DTMF
only) events but does not regenerate, nor otherwise use, DTMF events
received from the remote end of the call.
Configuration changes can performed centrally at the boot server:
    From the admin guide http://www.polycom.com/common/docume...de_SIP_3_1.pdf
