  • Music on Hold

I understand that you could use a third party application such as Winamp to play your music on hold instead of plugging a device into the Shoregear switches. Is that true and if so can anyone tell me how to accomplish this?

you could use winamp, but the computer running winamp would have to be plugged into the switch providing the MOH services

we do that. windows media player playing on repeat for the music, have a cable going from the back of the computer into the switch. works like a charm and i never have to touch it.

We use Download Telephone On Hold Messages and Music Player Software on one of our non-essential windows servers, turning off all sounds.

It gives you a bit more than the average media player
