  • Personal Call Manager Issues

We have a handful of workstations the constantly disconnect and reconnect with messages in the task tray saying "The configuration server is now available". We are running build 13.9.9403.0. The PC's and phones work fine, just the popup messages every few minutes are annoying.

    Connection

Sounds to me like your workstations are losing connection to the shoretel server.

if you do a continuous ping to the shoretel vmail server, do you lose/drop packets? Especially around the times when the connection drops/re-establishes?

      Ping Test

A constant ping shows no loss of connectivity between the workstations and the server. No other application shows any connectivity issues.

        connection

Are there any hardware firewalls/routers between the pc's and the shoretel server?

We ran into a watchguard firewall bug that did exactly what you describe.

Here is a another thread kind of similar, although more continuous than yours.

          Same issue here

Configuration server unavailable pop-ups every few minutes for remote users. No issue with Contact Center Agent Toolbar though. Also network bandwidth, not an issue. No issue with any other programs--SAP, Outlook, etc. No software different than what is on the computers at HQ site.

Seems PCM ultra sensitive to latency? Is there a heartbeat connecton of some sort? Don't see dropped packets so what is going on?

          Any help/advice appreciated!

          Thanks

At the user level go into their phone and modem settings/ advance/open shoretel remote tapi service provider, what do you see? You should see the IP address of the provider (server) user ID and whats the provider status?

I have this issue now anyone find a fix or reason why it's happening?
              Shoretel 10.2
              PCM Build 15.41.3005.0

Tried a few reg keys to no avail. Really could use a hand getting this fixed.

1.Check the CSIS log on the client machine for CSIS_HTTP_SEND_FAILED error via c:\document and settings\<username>\Application Data\logs
2.Disable the Windows Firewall service on the client PC located under Admin tool ->Services -> Windows firewall -> Right click and select Disable or Manual.
3.Check Proxy settings under IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings ->Proxy server if enabled and being used then add exception "IP of the Shoreware Server". If proxy is enabled not configured then disable it.
4.Exit CM and then re-launch it.
5.Check to see if the issue is resolved if not then contact TAC.

Problem for us was our proxy server. after adding exceptions in the IE Connections/Proxy section and fully closing the shoretel software and then running it again got rid of the problem. Exceptions were added for server's DNS name and IP address.:sorcerer:

I know it's an old thread, but watch out for K9 Web Filter also. It will cause these same kinds of problems.
