  • Headsets Issues - What are you using?

I have been using Plantronics S11's into my ShoreTel 560 phones. Recently, a couple headsets stopping working properly. You could hear the caller, but the microphone was not working (the caller could not hear me.) I have no idea what happened. I know the headset was not damaged because one was for use at my desk. I checked the setup several times and everything looked correct. Has anyone had issues with headsets that stopped working for no apparent reason.

Also, I would like to find out which headsets are the most popular. I am looking for the most bag for my buck. Thanks all!

I cannot say that the headsets we use are the most bang for the buck but we use the plantronics H101N with the M22 amps. We use to have a NEC 704i phone system used plantronics headsets on those phones so when we changed over to Shoretel i just moved their old headsets over to the new phone. I would change over to a new headset but every time i try the end user complains that they are not near as good as their plantronics they did have, so i still buy the expensive headsets.

We use the CS50's from Plantronics. Very happy with them. Occasionally at the end of the day, reps do not get headset properly seated into the charger and have dead headsets in the AM. We keep a couple of spares charged and ready to go..

We are headset dependant and I’ve tried a lot of different headsets. After testing several, including Plantronics, we settled on the Jabra 9350. The only difference between the ways we use them and how you are using yours is that our users don’t use a Hard Phone and plug their headsets directly into the computer via USB. We control all calls using the Call Manager and Soft Phone. The quality is good and the headsets are Wi-Fi friendly and should not interfere with any wireless connections. You need the latest version of Shore-Tel but you can answer the calls from your headset and you don’t need to actually be at your desk.

We're using the Plantronics Polaris series. Most are the P351N model which we get relatively cheap from Dell.

          They work great.
