  • Quick Transfer to Voice Mail from Phone

Is there a way for an operator to transfer a call on the line to the voice mail of another extension directly, FROM THE PHONE?

    For instance:
Operator: "Thank you for calling XYZ Corp, how may I help you?"
Caller: "May I speak to John Smith please?"
O: "May I ask who is calling?"
    C: "This is Jane Jones"
    O: "One moment please"
<Operator does consultive transfer to John Smith>
    John Smith: "Hello?"
Operator: "I have Jane Jones on the line"
JS: "Please put her through to my voice mail"
    Operator: "OK"
    <Operator recalls Jane Jones>
Operator: "I'm sorry, Mr Smith is not available now, would you like his voice mail?"
    JJ: "That'll be fine"
<Operator transfers call to John Smith's voice mail WITHOUT John Smith's phone ringing>

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Yup, using these soft keys.

Transfer - (Extension) - More - To MB

      Rockin', thanks Dr Klahn.

Now I'm told that there's no way to move the button from behind "More". That seems to be counterproductive. On my NEC NEAX 2000, it seemed I could put any function on any softkey anywhere I wanted with any label I wanted.

      Grrr..

I do not believe this feature can span between SG switches though. So for example if the the operator is in voice swith A and John Smith belongs to Switch B. you will not see the "To MB" in the softkey pattern.

          Really?

That could be a problem. I'll have to test that out tomorrow.

And I think I know you, Joe.

OK, just tested it. Called the DID of someone on Switch B and transferred the call to my own voice mail, which is on Switch D. Worked like a charm.
