  • Linux dhcp server distro

    We just purchase several shoretel 90
    suppose to be simple setup but for some reason I couldn't get the dhcp server to start with "option shoretel-server code 156 = string;"

    I have read to the furom but I can't seem to find it. I was wondering if I have to compile dhcp to get "shoretel-server" option to work.

    here's part of my dhcp.conf

    ---------------------
    subnet 192.168.20.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
    range 192.168.20.100 192.168.20.200;
    option routers 192.168.20.1;
    }

    subnet 192.168.10.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
    range 192.168.10.100 192.168.10.200;
    option shoretel-server code 156 = string;
    option shoretel-server "ftpserver=192.168.10.254, country=1, language=1, layer2tagging=1, vlanid=100";
    option routers 192.168.10.1;
    }
    ---------------------

    I have tried centos/redhat, debian etch, suse, all doesn't seem to start with "option shoretel-server", If I comment it out, it starts w/out a problem. Is there a particular step that im missing to make "option shoretel-xxx" on any of the linux distro I have been trying.

    Thanks

      The string for option 156 is ftpservers=0.0.0.0 not ftpserver.

      Try that
