  • Ip 8000

Has anyone created an user guide for the IP 8000? The user guide provided is horrible. I can not believe Shoretel thinks the user guide is acceptable. I thought I would ask here before I created my own. Thanks.

Its a pretty simple phone not much to it, you may want to look at Lifesize, its essentially the same manual PDF

Yeah the intructions are bad. I set one up and it took me a long time to get it up. I take it you are talking about the Shoreware Director setup not what the buttons do. it was a while ago when i set it up, but if you need help let me know.

If your refering to the Install and configuration of the IP8000

If you follow the App Note produced by ShoreTel to the Letter (I MEAN DO NOT DEVIATE OR CHANGE A SINGLE ITEM) and go through that Line by Line

        AGAIN NOT DEVIATING ONE ITEM

Your IP 8000 Phone will work every time.

Believe me, the most common mistake is not Following the App note to the letter

I have not had any issues getting an IP8000 phone to work. The issue is the documentation gives a horrible user guide. It does not show how to add or drop people from a conference. I had to go to the manufacturer's website to find more information. Their user guide is not much better. I will create my own user guide to give to the customer. Thanks for the replies.

Care to post the gist of that here, for our benefit? We're buying one and would like to have a good idea up front what it involves.
