  • Find Me feature not working

We seem to be having some issues with the find me feature in shoretel version 7.0. When configured everyone can recieve calls from internal callers but if it is an external call entering into the shoretel system then being redirected with the find me feature it does not work. The call will ring into the find me destination but when the recipient presses 1 to accept the call it just disconnects.

Do you have trunk to trunk and external call forwarding and find me destinations turned on in the voicemail notification user group?

      Telman2010 makes a great point

1: Go to your application server(s) check for Default User Group (Note Which one)
2: Go to User Groups (choose your Default as found in step 1 above)
3: from that User grp open COS Telephony

Make sure the following options are checked
      1: Trunk to Trunk Transfer
2: Allow External Call Forwarding and Find Me distinations
3: Allow External Extension Reassignment (For Office Anywhere)

These Items Must be checked in each COS that users are going to use FM or Office anywhere

Does the call drop or go back to voicemail? I have had to extend the number of rings before going to voicemail from the default of 3 to 5 to allow time for the called party to press 1 and connect the call.

The changes in the post above worked for us. It now works with no problems. The calls were dropping to answer the last post but when we did the configurations above it works fine. I have mine set on 3 rings and it is great.

I am running in the the same problem, but the COS is correctly configured. Any other ideas?

If the COS is right then I would make sure the Voicemail notification user group has access to the outbound trunks.

              Good luck.

Changing the Telephony COS for the Voice Mail Notification group worked for me.

Has there been any new developments on this?

I have tried above and everything is correct.
When i get a call the caller name is announced followed by press 1 to accept, as soon as I press 1 boom disconnected.

                    trunk to trunk transfer

For sure that is trunk to trunk transfer permissions not being set right.

                    check and recheck

The COS may be configured, but not being applied to the users.

Perhaps your carrier is dropping the call because the DID did not originate from within their system.

                        I checked and quadrupole checked..

I am a member of the executives group.
The Executives COS for Telephony is:
                        Allow Trunk-Trunk Transfer
(At bottom of page) Allow External Call Forwarding and Find Me Destinations is checked.
There is no such item stating: Allow External Extension Reassignment (For Office Anywhere)
Only thing in here is Allow External Assignment and a scope:
I have checked this item along with All Calls.

I tried calling again and again dropped call.
The party hears: There was no answer.. proceeding with greeting.
My Options are set for find me (all checked)
                        Send incoming Caller ID
Enable Find me for incoming calls before playing greeting
enable record callers name for find me
record name even if caller id is present.

                        I only have analog trunks.

The only thing that seems to work is Office Anywhere.
                          Accept call by pressing "1"

But this is not good enough as I would like to use Find me.
                          Is this a bug?
                          We are on Build 14.41.1108.0

I have the exact same problem as eazeaz. I was told its because we use POTS lines.

                              Shoretel really gets me sometimes...
They nail things on the head sometimes, but others its just mediocre

What I dont understand is how Office anywhere is any different (it works) from find me.
