  • VOIP to Telco

Our telco provider is implementing VOIP. So in theory, I can go VOIP to their equipment and drop the PRI.

They are using Cisco equipment for their stuff.

I have had no luck in finding out details about the Shoretel system to send to them to determine the possibility of interoperation between the Cisco and Shoretel equipment. The Shoretel partner we are working with has not responded to the request for additional information.

Can someone point me to a resource that I could use to gather the information to help the phone company and I determine if our systems can work together or not?

    I appreciate this.-Charles K

When you state that your 'Telco' is going VoiP, what do you mean by this?
Are they going to be supporting SIP Trunking? If you drop your PRI, how will you connect to them? MPLS?

remember, eventually, you need to connect to a PSTN.

We would be connecting to them via a 10 GB Metro Ethernet connection. So I need to interface with their Cisco equipment on a VOIP basis then they would handle the switch over to PSTN.

10mb MPLS is what it sounds like. Also, sounds like SIP trunking. SIP trunking is new, and has it's own issues as everybody has there own idea of how sip should work.

Here is some more info on Sip Trunks
