  • Don't go with hosted VoIP rather than an IP PBX

Great little face-off article, this side is from Ed Basart, CFO and Co-Founder of ShoreTel

    http://www.networkworld.com/columnis...d-voip-no.html

On a personal note, I pulled a Cisco hosted PBX out to install a ShoreTel system, and the customer was so thankful after so many problems with the Cisco hosted solution....'proof of concept'

We have a number of times as well. The ROI is actually really compelling at 50users and justified typically around 30 users...

We do something similar on a regular basis. Centrex (hosted PBX from the phone company) is still pretty popular around our area although it almost never has a VOIP component. We regularly replace that will a local system (either IP enabled Key system or a ShoreTel IPBX depending on the size and needs) and the customer always loves it and saves money. The reason being that monthly on lines and Centrex services is normally outrageous, plus the service stunk, while now they can consolidate lines for one time purchase equipment and get worthwhile service.
