That really can't be discussed here. The Field Trial team will happily answer your questions and if you express interest, additional information will be shared with you on Shoretel 8.

This is a major release with some very major changes. As with any beta product, you need to consider how risk adverse you are. You will run into bugs as part of the program.

      Secrets

I wish I knew what all the secrecy was about with shoretel. They have to be the most paranoid company I have ever dealt with. I swear I could get more information out of the Los Alamos lab.

Most companies I've ever dealt with that run closed betas act the same exact way.

They are a public company, and they have to keep things in perspective. At the same time, if you sign up for the beta, and sign the NDA, then you get to know everything (just about).

Shoretel Forums will be hosting a Private Forum just for Beta testers in the very near future. Probably going to do it without Shoretel consent, but it will be closed, and restricted to Beta testers only.

BTW, so far, ST8 is awesome

When is it supposed to be ready for the general public? There are several features that we are really looking forward to...

I would imagine it will go controlled release in the next 30-60 days. CR is for new customers and existing customers with a good business case to use it. General Availability (where everyone can get it) usually comes 4-6 months thereafter.

Thanks. I hope all goes well and it is a good stable release. We can really use some of the features in it.
