  • New firmware release for IP 8000

    ShoreTel recently released a new firmware version for the IP 8000 conference phone. For those of you that may not have heard about it yet, the highlights are :

    - Enhancements to the microphone pickup performance

    - VLAN support

    The version is 3.7.2 (1) and is available for download from the support site. We recommend that all units in the field be upgraded to this release to maximize the audio performance of the unit.

      Unfortunately, too late for us. We had four of these phones, but sent them back because there was no support for VLANs. We ended up going with Polycom's IP 7000 phone.

        I was able to get the older code to work by putting them on the Voice VLAN only.

          Why was the second (outbound) interface shut off in this firmware? It's breaking existing functionality and pissing off our userbase (not to mention the administrators who have to deal with the pissed off users).
