Yes, it is a good article, but I think there is more to be said about "SMB" vs. enterprise. In our case, we are a large enterprise (2+ billion), but we don't have that many users (300-400) in our main facility. People need to focus on their requirements, and not be scared away that ST has done really well in smaller shops. Its fine for us "big companies" too!
So while we were a tad concerned about financial viability, the same reasons mentioned in the article about ease of use/administration and features are what won us over. We are displacing the big "A" as we move to our new headquarters. I have a dedicated telco staff, but that is still no excuse to purchase a cumbersome, cryptic to administer, system!
We are looking forward to the install, and have a good reseller working with us. I follow this forum and the Yahoo one daily, and will surely be chiming in at some point.

Anybody hear that ShoreTel canceled their IPO because Mitel slapped them with four patent infringements on the eve of the IPO. This may tie up ShoreTel going public from a couple months to over a year.
ShoreTel hit a stumbling block on the road to its IPO as rival Mitel Networks slapped the VoIP vendor with a patent infringement lawsuit that appears to have delayed trading of its shares.
Hopefully these are bogus, but I was reading one of the patents that Mitel listed and it seems to relate the the Shoreware Director and seems legitimate, which cannot be good for ShoreTel.-LC

I purchased shares on Monday. It had gone from $9.50 to $12.52, closed yesterday at $12.60. My broker of course had never heard of ShoreTel, she uses an old Spirit (AT&T still on one of the phones!). Interesting that she then purchased shares and called my wife and told her to liquidate NorTel and buy ShoreTel. (Is retirement only months away!!!???)
I wonder if being a dealer/stockholder will get calls returned any quicker, or slower.
