  • Conference phone: to Polycomm or Not?

The Shoretel conference phone gear is mighty spendy. Should I stick with that equipment or will a Polycomm do the trick just fine?

The location (two actually) are in a medium sized conference room (Boardmembers' conference room) and a large multipurpose room.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Thanks,

    Greg

We're using Polycom analog conference phones in all of our conference rooms. They work just fine.

I've installed both (actually, several of both). The Ip8000 is awesome, but can be overbearing in a smaller room. I feel they both have there place.

As long as the end user understands that the Shoretel Flying Saucer will not hover over the table when in use...

We called it the Jupiter 2

Ditto, read the requirments for each phone, the IP8000 is a good phone wiht limitation to only 3 conferences allowed (Meaning 2 + 1 two conferences plus 1 originator) this does not change in ST8

The Polycom is no longer supported as of ST8 maybe st7.5 not sure on that. But is still a vialble solution. If I had to I would go with the Analog Polycom vs the SIP or 4000
