I have an issue in that I was told when I asked that I could use MS Server 2003 Small Business. "Should be good to go."
On our first install there was a glitch that required TS to log in to fix. Very quickly I was told that we were using MS Server 2003 Small Business. We already knew that. We had asked and told OK.
TS fixed the problem but told us that we risked having our support agreement voided by having that version on our server. They offered no reason why. This is a small location: 5 phones and to be enterprised with two like locations in the summer.
To add to the problem, we have sold two more and ordered exactly the same server configuration. Now we have a pile of "junk" sitting on the floor waiting to decide what to do next. Dell will not take them back and it looks like we are risking our support.
Yes, it was an ShoreTel inside sales comment to go and do it.
We are telephone guys trying to transition. This issue was not covered in the I&M class.
Anyone have any comments?
