  • Soft Phone

    Hello,

I have recently moved off-site from our office location (shoretel server). I am currently using external assignment to get the calls. I am not being able to use the soft phone.
To connect back to the server, I use a Cisco VPN client. I can change the external assignments and other features, but cannot connect with the soft-phone.
When I start the soft phone, it fails for the port cannot be created. Sometimes, when I open the client manager the option of soft-phone disappears.
I am new to this and would appreciate some advice. Thank You.

    Softphone Permissions

The use of softphone is an option. The administrator can toggle it on/off. That this the first place to look. If you can manage your settings via PCM, then you know you have IP connectivity to the server, which eliminates IP routing issues and the VPN client. Therefore the softphone toggle setting is the most likely answer.
