  • Pressing 0

We have run into an occurence where if you dial an extension (individual user) and while it is ringing press 0 it will automatically forward to another workgroup extension on that trunk if the call is not picked up instead of continuing on to voicemail. The personal options are set to forward to voicemail, but there is nothing setup for dialing 0. Also experienced this if you are listening to users voicemail message and press 0 during it will automatically forward. ?!?

Do you have that workgroup set up as the operator extension in the site configuration?

It is the operator, I have tried it with 2 different trunk groups and both defaut to operator on both.

        This is by design.

Personal Assistant: Each user can specify a Personal Assistant, which is the
destination to which a calling party is transferred upon dialing “0” in the user’s
mailbox. For example, executives often want callers transferred to their own
executive assistant rather than to the operator when a caller dials “0” in their
        mailbox.

If no personal assistant is defined and a caller dials “0,” the call is transferred to the
site operator. If no site operator is defined, the call is transferred to the autoattendant.

          Thanks!!
Where can you find the options to define it in the shoreware director?

The operator is under Sites->Your site.

The Personal Assistant is under the individual user.

I have set the Site Operator Extension for a couple of child sites, however it hasn't taken effect. When pressing 0 at the voice mail of a user in one of those sites, I still get transferred to the Parent Site's (headquarters) operator. Is there something possibly overriding the Site Operator Extension?
