  • Has anyone ever gone from 9.1 back to 8.5?

We're having so many problems that didn't exist with 7.0 that we're considering backing down from the 9.1 to see if the troubles go away. Has anyone else encountered issues with 9.1 - ShoreTel support was not helpful, what they wanted to do was prove that it wasn't their issue! Not the correct way to embrace customer service?
Anyway, the customer is not happy and we have to do something.

We have had very few issues with the 9.1 upgrades we have performed.

9.1 has been decent for our customers (including multi-site). 8.1 is pretty stable at this point as well.

      9.2 should be out soon.

Be careful we installed 9.1 in a test environement and found once the phones have been upgraded, if you roll back the server (to 7.5 in our case) you will then have a nice paper weight instead of a phone.

Thanks for the warning: I just upgraded my testing system to 9.1 and will keep this in careful mind before rolling back to 7.5 to test a custom there.

We have done it in our test lab numerous times. The switches upgrade/downgrade pretty easily, the phones were not an issue but for the main server we had an image using Acronis each step of the way so the downgrade was pretty simple. We had to learn how to upgrade from 5.2 to 8.1 because ShoreTel said it was not supported. Did not get that one but the process was pretty simple with images.
