We would like to be able to park a call and then page a paging group with one button. Currently can configure a park and page button on an IP phone, but the page function only pages the switches page port. It does not allow you to specify a paging group to which you would like to page. I would rather see the page button use a paging group. If you wanted it to page to the switches page port, you could always add that extension to the paging group.
We do not have an overhead paging system. We use our phones for paging. We do, however, have on area of the building that is seperate from the office area. It has overhead speakers. When we do a page, sometimes we want to page just the overhead, and sometime we would want to page the phones and the overhead. Maybe our situation is unique? But I would have to think there are a lot of organizations that would use their phones as their sole paging system and would not have any external overhead paging. In those instances, I would think the ability to page to a paging zone would be important.
