We, too, use 64-bit clients and are chomping at the bit for this feature, or even a workaround. Citrix/Terminal server is too costly, and does not work well globally.

We're eager for a solution, because we'll have 600 desktops rolled out with Vista 64 by March 09.

I don't see 64-bit support for call manager coming until Windows 7 as that is already slated to be released Q3 09 and will be when 64bit is adopted.

64 Bit

Shoretel really needs to get moving on this. What about people that want to run the Call Manager on a Citrix Xenapp server.

Who is going to install Xenapp 5 on a 32bit windows 2008 server? Probably someone that shouldn't be installing it in the first place.

It sure seems that everything is trying to move to 64 bit. It is a shame to have apps that hold you back.

Bwaaahahahahaha, I have no idea where in the road map 64 bit is supported, just do not hold your breath. With the rumors of Linux ports and blah blah blah Shoretel is resting on what was, they need to step up the game for sure.

64 bit is the future

Where I work, going forward we will strictly use 64 bit Terminal Server 2003/2008 or XenApp... since we are mainly a thin client shop. Shoretel, please adopt this soon! I'm speaking in terms of the call manager client. 64 bit is the way of the future for sure, and waiting for Windows 7 is rediculous.

This has to be the thought of most terminal shops. We want to pack loads of memory into the box and squeeze as many users as possible.

The only workaround I see for Server 2008 is running a separate 32bit server, and publishing the shoretel PCM app to the users on the 64bit boxes.

Wow. Some interesting replies on here.

We're also one of the "nobodies" that is moving to a 64-bit platform (enjoy staying at 4 gigs, the rest of you). Shoretel's lack of 64-bit support is pretty disturbing. We obviously don't need a native 64-bit app; we just want your 32-bit app to work as it should under windows/vista 64.

Odd that the other 100+ apps in our environment have figured out a way to do it.

P.S. Windows 7? Seriously? C'mon.
