Ticker tape report

The ticker report this AM announced 8.1 as available. Guess this means it is not. In fact it seemed to slant to the Continent over yonder. Has the 230g been released yet?

Does it respond faster than the 230?

It has a gigabit switch built-in instead of 10/100.

Yeah, but does it respond faster? I had customers complaining that the scroll speed and dialing speed was too slow on the 230s.

There is a faster processor in the 230g (it can be used as a VPN phone). We haven't had any complaints during the beta from our 230g users regarding this problem. Then again, we don't touch the phone often either (use PCM for everything).

Doesn't look like it will be a replacement for the 230's anyway...its pricey.

No, it is meant to provide a gigabit office worker phone. Before, the only options were the 560g anf 565g. The price point is less than both of those.

Does the SSL part have to be connected to a Shoretel VPN box? Can it go to a 3rd party like Juniper. Maybe I am naive for asking....just wondering,

Thanks
