Control Shoretel phone via telnet

Does anyone know if it is possible to dial/hang up a phone (in this case a 560) via the telnet interface? Seems like it could be done, just not exactly sure how to get there. Thanks.

Basically, I have a touch-screen controlled automation system, and would like to have a button that would automatically dial a phone number on the phone. I'm not really looking for anything fancy, just for it to open a telnet connection and dial an extension from the phone.

Doubt you can do it via telnet on the phone but you should be able to do it via the SDK from Shoretel (the COM integration on the server should do this).

Thanks for the input, Chris. Unfortunately, I don't have the SDK and this is more of a "nice thing to have" that doesn't warrant or allow any expenses tied to it at this time.

No problem, that's how these things go. That's the great thing about forums like this - the ability to get the info you're looking for from people who are more knowledgeable without spinning your wheels and wasting lots of time and $$.
