Your condescension occasionally gets in the way of your information. It is not a matter of not understanding capitalism; frankly, that assumption is insulting. The question is whether a company which develops solutions for its products decides to provide those solutions with or without cost.

Providing them without cost to the consumer can be beneficial; it increases the value of the product. Certainly they have a right to decide they wish to charge for their services, but sometimes this makes sense, and sometimes it does not. I can't say which is the case this time, but sometimes being penny wise leads to being pound foolish.
JLorenz, we all appreciate the answers you give here, but I think the attitude is interfering with the message.
